Ikpeng people. Indigenous School Education. Literacy. Ikpeng language
This research deals with homeschooling and the teaching process at the Central Ikpeng Indigenous State School. This research was carried out with the communities of the Arayó village and Moygu village in the Xingu Indigenous Land, in the municipality of Feliz Natal, in the state of Mato Grosso, Brazil. Given this, the research aims to characterize Ikpeng education and develop pedagogical material for literacy in the mother tongue. The indigenous school is the result of intense claims by the Ikpeng people, for recognition, legitimacy and accreditation by the state. In addition to the dissertation presented, the result of the research produced a pedagogical literacy product. This pedagogical product should be used in Ikpeng schools, with the aim of strengthening the Ikpeng identity and culture and serves as literacy material for the Ikpeng language.
