RESUMO:

This study aims to evaluate the performance of the macrophytes Typha domingensis (cattail) and Echinodorus cordifolius (leather hat), aiming at their application in constructed wetlands for the treatment of domestic wastewater. The research will be conducted in a controlled environment, using five effluent concentrations (0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%) with five repetitions, over a period of three months. Physicochemical (BOD, COD, nitrogen, and phosphorus) and microbiological (thermotolerant coliforms) parameters will be monitored, allowing for the evaluation of species adaptation and contaminant removal efficiency. A Technical Report detailing planting, adaptation, and monitoring stages will be prepared, ensuring reproducibility and operational safety. An in-depth literature review will be conducted, allowing for comparison between different configurations and approaches to constructed wetlands described in the literature, focusing on removal efficiency, macrophyte performance, and operational parameters. As a final product, a technical-scientific report will be presented, bringing together analysis of the results, discussion, and recommendations for the application of the species in constructed wetlands. It is expected that the results will contribute to the development of sustainable wastewater treatment practices, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 6, 11, and 12).
