DERIVATIVE IN HIGH SCHOOL - A PROPOSAL OF USE IN MATHEMATICAL MODELING
Differential Calculus, Modeling, Rate of Change, Optimization, High School.
With this research, we intend to develop a support material for High School Mathematics teachers to use some concepts of Differential Calculus in classes. Such an attitude on the part of the teacher provides the student with an innovative experience, through which he will be encouraged to think mathematically about real and practical situations. We will show how Calculus can help solve problems in High School, and how teachers can work on Mathematical Modeling with their students. We will present the concepts and characterizations of derivatives, and we will apply such definitions in problems involving Mathematics, Physics, Economics and Agribusiness. The concepts addressed in this research aim to prepare the teacher to work with them in the classroom, therefore, they have rigor and formality equivalent to academic study. In the didactic proposals, where the teacher will apply these concepts in the classroom, they will be worked in a more intuitive and less rigorous way, suitable for high school students.
