A PROPOSAL FOR TEACHING MATHEMATICS FOR THE FIRST YEAR OF HIGH SCHOOL WITH THE HELP FROM THE PORTUGOL WEBSTUDIO TOOL
Mathematics education. Algebra. Algorithms. Computational thinking.
This paper proposes an approach to teaching algebra in the first year of high school using the Portugol programming tool to solve problems in the workbook of the structured teaching system of the state of Mato Grosso, Brazil. The study aims to demonstrate the direct link between algebra and programming, while also introducing an essential skill for the future. The use of Portugol allows students to better visualize and understand algebraic concepts, making learning more dynamic and engaging. In addition, the experience promotes greater participation in the classroom, arousing students’ interest in mathematics and programming.
