ORAL TRADITION AND COLONIALITY: THE EXPERIENCES OF WOMEN IN THE NOVEL "O alegre canto da perdiz", BY PAULINA CHIZIANE
Women. Mozambique. Coloniality. Displacement. Romance.
Contemporary literature produced in the African countries of Portuguese Official Language seeks to redefine Africa by opposing the values established during the colonial process, which stemmed from racial distinctions to create other also exclusionary concepts. Such literary productions often, from the perspective of post-colonial studies, represent the socio-historical-cultural constitution of African countries and peoples. In this sense, this text is a reflection on the language of the novel The Joyful Song of the Partridge, by Paulina Chiziane. The work takes the reader into the harsh contemporary Mozambican reality, which was forged in a historical process that delegitimized the cultural elements of the country.
