Interpreting the mirage: Twelve tales, by Luciene Carvalho

The collection Doze Contos Interpretando a Miragem, by Luciene Carvalho, constitutes one of the expressions of contemporary Mato Grosso literature, accommodating language, conciseness and everyday experience when addressing the themes of time, memory and existence. In her brief narratives, the author reveals the power of memory as a form of permanence and reconstruction of the being. Each tale, at the same time autonomous and interconnected with the others, constitutes a piece of a memorial mosaic that unites the individual and collective dimensions of human experience. The objective of this research is to analyze the literary production of the black woman, Luciene Carvalho, which privileges the protagonism of black women and their complex existences, marked by prejudice, loneliness and suffering.
