VALTER HUGO MÃE: AN INSIGNE DAWN

This study examines the converging force that works as a mainspring in the literary project of Valter Hugo Mãe,
specifically in the works o apocalipse dos trabalhadores (2008), a máquina de fazer espanhóis (2010), O filho de
mil homens (2011), A desumanização (2013) e Homens imprudentemente poéticos (2016). An attempt is made
to understand in a panoramic way the mottos that enliven narrators and characters in complex relationships,
extreme situations, considering the perception resized by distance and cultural specificities interposed by
geography unusual for novels. In Valter Hugo Mãe's literary project, the potency of poetics that rises through
the language and questions that surround and bring into discussion the humanistic theme in this author's
fictional production. Narrative analysis has the following critical-theoretical referential assumptions: Antonio
Candido, Antonio Dimas, Benjamin Abdala Junior, David Damrosch, Edward Said, Gaston Bachelard,
Giorgio Agamben, Ian Watt, Luis Alberto Brandão, Maurice Blanchot, Mikhail Bakhtin, Walter Benjamin
entre outros.
