MY RECIPE BOOK WITH PHYSIOLOGICAL PINTS: TEACHING SEQUENCE AS A TEACHING AND LEARNING STRATEGY OF THE PHYSIOLOGY OF THE DIGESTIVE SYSTEM
Autonomy, Nutrient Absorption, Nutrient Digestion, Investigative Method, Protagonism.
In order to contextualize the concepts related to the functioning of the digestive system, this work sought to develop a didactic sequence (DS) of investigative nature so that each student individually or teacher with the class could prepare a Recipe Book with Physiological Tweaks". The main idea of the DS was to use the foods consumed by the students and their favorite recipes to investigate and deepen the processes of digestion and absorption of these foods. The investigative DS was developed using different teaching resources, such as videos, food composition tables, texts, and also practical activities in the kitchen, among others. The DS was applied to a 3rd year high school class and allowed students to understand how food is transformed inside the digestive tract, as well as the digestion and absorption of nutrients in a contextualized way, using learning strategies that connected them to everyday life situations. At the end of the didactic sequence application, we were able to complete the Physiologic Recipes notebook for the 3rd year high school class. From the experience of the application of the DS, a booklet was elaborated for use by teachers, the students themselves, and health agents, since the booklet provides autonomy and protagonism to the student in the process of teaching and learning the physiology of the digestive system, and also promotes associations of the body's well-being with health. We consider that this work is relevant in the field of biology teaching, because the proposed methodological approach enables student autonomy and makes them protagonists in the learning process.
