S IT POSSIBLE TO TEACH BIOLOGY USING EXPRESSIONS FROM POP CULTURE? A PROPOSAL BASED ON SUPERHERO FILMS

In the current educational landscape, considering the demotivation and disinterest of students in education in general, and particularly in biology, there is an intention to investigate the possibility of enhancing biology education through the influence of pop culture, especially as exercised by superhero movies in cinema. The proposal aims to motivate students by starting with the choice of each group's favorite superhero. After screening a segment from the movie 'Avengers: Endgame,' the selection of the preferred hero was made, followed by an exploration of their powers, which led to studying specific topics. The content covered was organized according to the superhero's powers, encompassing areas such as cytology, histology, physiology, and genetics.
