RESUMO:

Recently, humanity has experienced a very complex and turbulent period in global public health, Covid-19. Despite considerable scientific attention to the impacts of the pandemic in urban areas, very little has been shown about the impact on rural populations. However, family farming is responsible for 77% of agricultural establishments in Brazil. Given this scenario, we sought to analyze the impact of covid-19 on the rural population of the municipality of Tangará da Serra in the socioeconomic and health spheres, describing the profile of the population rural area of the municipality affected by covid-19, seeking knowledge of municipal programs to encourage agriculture during the pandemic period (2020 to 2023) and evaluating the socioeconomic and health impact of the rural population from 2020 to 2023 and their relationship. This is a descriptive study, using a quantitative-qualitative methodology. This study included 1,723 records of individuals reported with Covid-19 from rural areas in the municipality of Tangara da Serra in the State of Mato Grosso. The sociodemographic profile was composed of 60.01% female individuals, 55.10%, with an average age of approximately 41 years and 76.03% were aged between 18 and 59 years and 43.76% self-declared race/ brown color. The epidemiological profile outlined by the research is important data in order to highlight the rural population and guide prevention and health promotion measures. It should be noted that public policies must be consolidated in the situational and local assessment of each community, so that it can cover efficiently those who need it in order to eliminate or reduce gaps. The impacts observed by SEAPA in the family farming production sector were the use of creativity seeking the survival of producers. We can observe that it is essential that all forms of social, environmental and human awareness work in an integrated manner so that they can effectively promote positive and concrete changes for the rural population who so much need a more sensitive and specific look at their demands.
