Good Living; Environmental education.Public Education Network.
We are currently living in a system of accelerated deforestation, where the idea of progress has failed to ensure the preservation of natural resources. This research contemplates the Buen Vivir (Good Living) proposal as an alternative to the prevailing form of economic development. Methodologically, descriptive and exploratory bibliographic research was used, with a literature review conducted on CAPES databases such as Scielo, Web of Science, Scopus, and Google Scholar, using the descriptors Good Living and Environmental Education, to construct the state of the art.The first manuscript proposes to identify the trends and gaps related to Buen Vivir and environmental education. The results demonstrated an interrelationship between both, as they inspire harmony and environmental preservation. The second manuscript aims to investigate how the integration of the Buen Vivir concept into environmental education promotes awareness and sustainable practices among elementary school students in the municipal public school system of Vilhena/RO. A semi-structured form was used for data collection. The research was conducted in 3 (three) urban schools, one rural school, and the Municipal Department of Education, totaling 28 (twenty-eight) participants. The results demonstrated that the Buen Vivir proposal can be integrated into the pedagogical-political project and other methodologies, project development, and through partnerships with public bodies, civil society, and the Community
