RESUMO:

The history of the modernization of agriculture and the industrialization of seeds had repercussions in Brazil, especially in the traditional agricultural production system, the most evident changes were the activities of small producers in peasant agriculture and indigenous people, with regard to their traditional practices, specifically in the production of Creole seeds, food sovereignty and Good Living. The period is marked by the privilege of export-oriented monoculture. In this context, the research problem arises: What are the challenges and opportunities encountered by peasant farmers in the production of Creole seeds and traditional knowledge from the perspective of Good Living? Thus, the general objective of the research is highlighted in the purpose of promoting food sovereignty and Good Living as tools for maintaining traditional knowledge: Analyze the challenges and opportunities of the Silvio Rodrigues and Roseli Nunes communities in the production of Criollo seeds. The research was carried out with peasants from the Silvio Rodrigues and Roseli Nunes settlements, following all ethical procedures with approval from the CEP/UNEMAT ethics and research committee, under the CAAE protocol: (61989922.2.0000.5166). Methodologically, the research developed a qualitative approach, initially with the “Snowball” or Snowball methodology, which made it possible to compose the research subjects into fourteen (14) peasants from the Roseli Nunes and Silvio Rodrigues settlements for the semi-structured interview. , the research continues with a bibliographic nature with a bibliometric, descriptive/exploratory method, and documentary analysis. As data collection instruments, documentary analysis, interviews with semi-structured questionnaires and observation were chosen. The analysis of the interviews was supported by the content analysis proposed by Bardin (1977), with the help of the ATLAS.ti software, applied to the Bem Viver, Alcântara and Sampaio (2019, 2020) indicator matrix. To achieve the proposed objectives, the thesis was organized in Manuscript I, which aimed to analyze the socio-environmental aspects of peasant agriculture in the context of Food sovereignty. The results point to major challenges faced by peasants in the face of modernization in the countryside, related to socio-environmental issues, however this subject is under global debate; the importance of the peasant agriculture model for local agrobiodiversity was also shown; detected faults in the land distribution system; all of these factors seriously impact socio-environmental issues and food sovereignty; Manuscript II aimed to analyze the relationship between generational knowledge and the practice of cultivating creole seeds from the perspective of Good Living Well. The results indicate an intrinsic relationship between the production of creole seeds and the generational knowledge of peasants, and possible links between this practice to Good Living indicators. The importance of this articulation with Good Living is demonstrated; the research also revealed a lack of studies and research that address both topics in a correlated way; Manuscript III, sought to investigate the possibilities and challenges in the management of Creole seeds linked to socio-environmental issues and Bem Viver, in the practices of peasant agriculture, in the Sílvio Rodrigues and Roseli Nunes Settlements, located in the municipality of Mirassol D’ Oeste- MT.
