WHERE THE SILENCED DRUM ECHOES: AFRO-BRAZILIAN RELIGIOSITY IN PHILOSOPHY TEACHING IN CÁCERES-MT
Teaching Philosophy; Afro-Brazilian Religiosity; Afro-diasporic Epistemologies; Decolonial Education; Cáceres-MT
This research looks at how Afro-Brazilian religiosity can help build a decolonial philosophy curriculum for high school classes in the public network of the city of Cáceres-MT. It starts from the critique of the epistemicide present in school curricula, which silence African-based knowledge. The idea is to analyze teaching materials, identify pedagogical experiences, and propose theoretical-methodological guidelines that value Afro-diasporic epistemologies. The research aligns with Law 10.639/03 and aims to promote anti-racist education, where Afro-Brazilian religiosity is recognized as a legitimate field of philosophical knowledge.
