TEACHER APPRECIATION IN THE CONTEXT OF EDUCATION FINANCING: A CASE STUDY OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF CÁCERES-MT

This research was developed through the Postgraduate Program in Education (PPGEdu/UNEMAT), offered by the State University of Mato Grosso (UNEMAT). It is part of the research line Teacher Training, Policies and Pedagogical Practices, in the research field of Education Financing and Teacher Appreciation in the Municipality of Cáceres-MT. The present work aims to analyze the Financing of Public Basic Education in the Municipality of Cáceres-MT between 2019 and 2023, with the main aspect being the expenditure of education resources on teacher remuneration. through bibliographical and documentary research with the general objective of interpreting and analyzing whether there is a teacher appreciation policy in these documents and understanding how it is perceived in these documents. With a qualitative and quantitative approach, the research was based on documentary analysis, reports available on official websites, the National Institute of Studies and Educational Research Anísio Teixeira, the Transparency Portal of the Municipality of Cáceres, the Electronic Official Gazette of the Municipalities of Mato Grosso and the Information System on Public Budgets in Education (SIOPE); as well as structural changes and educational policies aimed at valuing teaching in the municipality of Cáceres that occurred in this historical series from 2019 to 2023 and also bibliographic research.This research examines teacher remuneration, through the Fund Policy, in the context of FUNDEB, the National Professional Salary Floor (PSPN) and the Position, Career and Salary Plan (PCCS), which are guarantors of teacher appreciation and promoters of educational quality, which has resulted in a series of actions by organized society, with a view to implementing these policies in the Municipality of Cáceres-MT.
