RESUMO:

This dissertation is part of the Postgraduate Program in Education (PPGEdu), at the State University of Mato Grosso (UNEMAT), in the line of research Teacher Training, Pedagogical Policies and Practices, and is also linked to the Waldorf Pedagogy Research Group, registered with the DGP-CNPq, in the project “The influence of the media on the cognitive development of children and young people”. The research was carried out in a school in the interior of Mato Grosso. From the perception, in the school space and in the social environment, of the acceleration of children's cognitive processes, often aimed at achieving goals and to the detriment of valuing play, an interest in investigating the importance of play, games and games in the teaching-learning process emerged. It is considered that the cognitive process is continuous, and it is necessary to stimulate and create moments that promote light, meaningful and pleasurable learning. The general objective is to understand how playful practices are used in the literacy process of students in the 1st year of Elementary School in a school located in the Southwest of Mato Grosso, as well as analyzing their contributions to the integral development of children. As specific objectives, we seek to: identify the playful activities present in the teaching-learning process; observe the creative methodologies used by teachers and the participation of students in the dynamics developed; and analyze playful, recreational and creative activities that use recyclable materials as teaching resources. Through the integrative review, the studies showed the existence of few productions and research that address Waldorf Pedagogy in the context of Brazilian public schools. The aim was to observe how playful activities are developed, both inside and outside the classroom, analyzing their contributions to the teaching-learning process and to the cognitive and social formation of students. The studies were carried out with students in the first year of Elementary School, who are in the literacy process. Methodologically, the research was guided by the principles of hermeneutic phenomenology, characterizing itself as an empirical study of a qualitative nature. For data collection, conversation circles, semi-structured interviews and questionnaires were used. The results show that teachers at the municipal school located in the Southwest of Mato Grosso develop practices that incorporate fun and games into the literacy process, contributing significantly to the child's integral development. Such practices favor social, cognitive and affective aspects, promoting student engagement in the school environment in an effective and respectful manner.
