RESUMO:

This research arose from the significant changes that have occurred in the organization of curricula, following the approval of the National Common Curricular Base. In the scope of School Physical Education, we come across new indicators, which represent an advance in terms of access to a diversity of bodily practices, organized into thematic units and objects of knowledge, as well as in the pedagogical treatment of objects of knowledge, taking into account the dimensions of knowledge. Understanding the importance of sport as a sociocultural phenomenon, we dedicated ourselves to investigating how degree courses in Physical Education, from public institutions in the state of Mato Grosso, have included sport in their initial training after the approval and implementation of the National Common Curricular Base in the school curriculum. . Therefore, our object of study is the relationship between sport in initial training and sport as an object of knowledge in school physical education. This is qualitative research, where we use bibliographic and documentary research procedures. To obtain the data that make up the research, we used the Pedagogical Projects of Physical Education Courses, in person, from public institutions in Mato Grosso. We seek to meet the following specific objectives: a) identify which sports are present in the curriculum of Physical Education courses; b) analyze how sport is presented in the pedagogical projects of Physical Education courses; c) understand the interrelationship between sport in the initial training of Physical Education teachers and sport at school. Five pedagogical projects from the degree course in Physical Education, from public institutions in the state of Mato Grosso, are part of this research. The data obtained was analyzed following content analysis techniques (BARDIN, 2016), organized into categories created a priori, namely: Update of Pedagogical Projects for Degree courses; Professional profile of the graduate; Sport in initial training for Physical Education teachers; Theoretical-didactic knowledge of the sport. From data analysis, we identified a gap between policies aimed at Basic Education and Teacher Training, being marked by time frames and actions that do not occur in harmony, as well as gaps relating to sport, such as disciplines being identified by terms used in the BNCC, however the syllabus does not present a study regarding the characteristics of the category, that is, it does not include the “internal logic of sports”. Another significant finding was the absence of the categories of precision sports and field and cue sports, in most of the courses investigated, consequently this can reverberate in the teaching of sport at school. In view of the results obtained, we consider that the sport presented in initial training courses for Physical Education teachers needs to direct the pedagogical approach to sport, taking into account what is required by the BNCC, as essential learning, corroborating so that sport can effectively be developed in different dimensions, as well as making it possible to expand the repertoire of experiences focused on sport.
