TEACHING STATISTICS IN THESIS AND THESIS IN BRAZIL: A STATE OF KNOWLEDGE IN THE PERIOD FROM 2000 TO 2021
Teaching of Statistics; State of Knowledge; Dissertations and Theses
In this research, we aim to investigate and analyze academic research (dissertations and theses) related to the Teaching of Statistics produced by graduate programs in Brazil from 2000 to 2021. reveal academic research (dissertations and theses) involving Statistical Education developed from 2000 to 2021 in Brazil? For data collection, we carried out a survey of dissertations and theses published in the following databases: Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES), Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD) and Professional Master's Degree in Mathematics in the National Network (PROFMAT ). Methodologically, we carry out a qualitative approach, in the modality of the “State of Knowledge”, which makes it possible to understand the studies carried out on Statistical Education, in a quantified and orderly manner. The Corpus of Research consisted of 407 researches, involving the referred theme. For the analysis of this material using some concepts of Content Analysis from the perspective of Bardin (1977) and Rodrigues (2019). From the survey and the process of coding the raw data, we were guided by the definition of 20 Thematic Axes, which were constituted based on the Word Clouds elaborated from the research titles and keywords. After coding the works according to the Thematic Axes, we sought to establish links between them for the constitution of six Research Analysis Categories. Next, we performed the Interpretative Data Analysis through a dialogic movement – data interlocution with the concepts marked by the theoretical contributions of the research – of each of six Analysis Categories configured in the present State of Knowledge to provide us with understanding of the investigated object.
