The aim of this dissertation is to describe and analyze school radio as an active methodology in the teaching of history and its potential in the production of students' historical knowledge at the intersection with the historicity of the subjects of the colonization of Sinop, beyond the official discourse of Sinop's history. We set out to maximize the potential of students as subjects who are aware of their historicity, based on their protagonism through the use of active methodologies, the study and understanding of local history and the development of autonomy in the construction and production of knowledge and pedagogical experiences, deconstructing a discourse of a single story told from official records. Therefore, for the teaching of history, this research makes use of the concept of the duty of memory, making visible and listening to the experiences of the subjects, using school radio as a tool for propagating these experiences.
