HERITAGE EDUCATION, CULTURAL HERITAGE, LOCAL HISTORY AND HISTORY TEACHING: THE SCHOOL AS A PLACE OF MEMORY

This dissertation addresses the topic of Cultural Heritage, with an emphasis on the places of memory of the Deputado Bertoldo Freire State School, located in the city of São José dos Quatro Marcos-MT. Through History Teaching and Heritage Education, we bring both the official heritage and the emotional heritage of the school into the classroom discussion, based on action research carried out with students in the 6th Year A of Elementary School. We demonstrate that it is possible to awaken interest in Local History through the study of students' daily lives. The methodology adopted was action research with a qualitative approach. To carry out the work, questionnaires will be administered and workshops will be held to encourage the study of the school as a place of memory. As a pedagogical product of this research, we chose to develop a didactic sequence about local heritage, containing suggestions for activities.
