RESUMO:

This dissertation is the result of research carried out in the Professional Master's Degree in History Teaching at the State University of Mato Grosso/UNEMAT, Cáceres campus, within the line of research "Languages and Historical Narratives: Production and Diffusion". The main theme of this dissertation is the analysis of discourses related to the beauty standards of the female body on the social network Instagram. The central question is: "How are discursive practices constituted around the standard of beauty of the female body on the social network Instagram?" The general objective is to investigate the discursive practices that shape the beauty standard of the female body on Instagram. To achieve this objective, specific objectives were established: understanding how female body beauty standards were constructed over time; b) Identify facial beauty standards projected by digital filters, c) Analyze the speeches of medical and physical education professionals, digital influencers around female beauty; d) Investigate discourses that subvert socially established beauty standards; e) Construction of a pedagogical didactic proposal for teaching as the research topic, the proposal of pedagogical material for teaching history. The dissertation uses a qualitative approach based on Foucault discourse analysis to understand how discourses intertwine within a knowledge-power context, using the female body as a vehicle to consolidate beauty standards in different historical moments. The sources that supported the analyzes were collected from the Instagram profiles of plastic surgeons, dermatologists, personal trainers and digital influencers. The theoretical foundation that allowed us to debate women's bodies and beauty standards is supported by authors Michelle Perrot, Margareth Rago, Denise Bernuzzi Sant’Anna and Naomi Wolf. Authors George Vigarello and Umberto Eco understand the history of beauty. This dissertation is justified by the importance of integrating the debate on the beauty standards of the female body in the teaching of history in basic education, given the significant influence of social networks in the dissemination of these ideals and their impact on the self-image of adolescents who are constantly connected to Instagram.
