RESUMO:

Universities play a central role in fostering development and innovation by aligning their research with regional needs. This study aims to develop guidelines for managing Intellectual Property (IP) at a multi-campus university in the state of Mato Grosso, with the goal of promoting innovation. The study employs the Design Science Research method, following the steps: i) problem identification: conducted in collaboration with the Innovation Agency of the State University of Mato Grosso (AGINOV); ii) literature review: to understand existing theoretical models for IP management; iii) artefact identification: multi-campus institutions were selected via the e-MEC portal, with documents related to IP management analysed and interviews planned; iv) satisfactory solutions: including the proposal and validation of artefacts. Preliminary results reveal the processes adopted for IP management in the selected universities. Based on the collected evidence, the next step is to structure a set of guidelines that can be applied to the multi-campus institution under study, with the results materialised in the delivery of the Final Technical Report, whose initial structure is also presented in this version of the work.
